Take Care of the BusinessJob SummaryImplement the Order Fulfillment
Process steps related to the accuracy of raw material and finished
goods inventory including quantity, storage location, material
grade and dimensions.General warehouse labor job that requires the
ability to red shipping documents or equivalent. Primary
responsibilities involve moving of material within the warehouse
and/or production facility under supervision. Other duties involve
loading and unloading trucks, pulling customer orders together and
assembling for shipment to customers various auxiliary equipment to
include but not limited to banding, shrink wrapping and conveyor
machines. Duties also involve frequent use of Powered industrial
Vehicles that may include use of forklifts, manual/electric pallet
jacks and scissor lifts. Some packaging duties may also be required
along with occasional shipping, receiving, clerk and/or other
administrative duties.Essential Job FunctionsReceive, inspect,
store or pull and stage material for fabrication according to
standard procedures:Ensure materials/products are stored, tagged,
or staged in a timely manner and protected from damage following
customer specifications or internal guidelines for placement in
stockReview purchase or work order pick list against shipment
details for any special storage requirements, including
HAZCOM/HAZMATPull and stage material following company standard or
bus route based on (FIFO) sequence required to complete each work
order Perform cycle counts to validate inventory quantities and
locations and forward count sheets to supervisorControl material
destination i.e. stock, manufacturing or immediate shipmentAct as
backup for shipping & packing by helping to prepare shipment as
requiredPrepare paperwork/packaging for returned goods tooling
going out for repair & returnMake boxes, crates or skids as
neededLoad and unload trucks as necessaryParticipate in cross
training to become knowledgeable of equipment/process within the
departmentQualifications and CompetenciesPerform work independently
Communicate with supervisor on work order priorityOpen to change
due to emergency orders or fabrication of partsAbility to use a
computer and to learn TGC's business software - Visual Mfg; Data
LinkAbility to convert and accurately use various units of measure
(sq. feet to inches, metric to English, etc.)Very good math
skillsAbility to understand drawing and blue printsAbility to use
basic measuring instrumentsAbility to operate a forklift and use
various hand toolsExcellent problem solving skillsAbility to follow
written and verbal instructionsMust be able to work overtime as
neededEducation and ExperienceA High School Diploma or GED with
prior hands on, vocational or job-related course work/training, or
any similar combination of education and experience is required.
Prior experience in a manufacturing industry is preferred.Physical
RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee
is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is may be
required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is
regularly required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle,
or feel. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40
pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is
typical of most shop environments; not climate controlled and
subject to outdoor weather conditions. Team members are exposed to
sounds and noise levels that are distracting.Frequent exposure to
fumes/dust particles; may require use of respirators or other types
of PPE.May come in contact with toxic or caustic
