Senior Tax Research SpecialistBuffalo Grove, IL or Remote-AmericasMonday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pmWe are looking for a hardworking, forward- thinking individual that has practical experience in business entity income tax compliance and/or programming. This individual will be very interested in transferring that practical experience into the tax software environment by helping us create and maintain corporate and pass-thru tax software solutions. We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic individuals to join CSC Corptax in one of our offices located in: Buffalo Grove, IL; Dallas-Fort Worth, TX; or telecommute from a remote location. Some of the things you will be doing:Research changes to tax formsInterpret the tax code and regulation updates that drove those changesProvide guidance to programmers on updates needed to calculations based on research findings (for candidates with programming experience or for non-programmers with a desire to learn programming; we use proprietary software and training will be provided)Test tax return calculations for accuracy, consistency, and usabilityExperience with reading and interpreting COBOL and/or C# is a plusExperience with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps is a plusDevelop and update documentation to support the tax return calculations and other collateralEventually lead or assist other leaders on team projects, as neededProvide support for the products we create through both direct and indirect communication channels What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need:Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Computer Science, or related fieldCPA or masters degree is a plus5 to 10 years of industry or public accounting experience specializing in corporate or flow-thru income tax compliance or programming experience.Experience with mid to high complexity pass-through compliance preferred.Exposure to and interest in tax software applications and Microsoft productsEquivalent experience at a tax software company will be consideredStrong oral and written skillsWillingness to learn new skills quicklyAbility to work extended schedule as required to meet objectives* At CSC, compensation decisions are dependent on a number of factors including job location and the knowledge and experience of each individual.
