Job Description:
This position collects, stores, processes and builds
applications within our big data platform. Responsible for
integrating these applications with the architecture used across
the organization. This role supports the foundational data
engineering needs for product (auto/home/commercial) and data
science & modeling. You will bring 2 years of experience in data
engineering. You will have strong demonstrated work experience
using GCP (or AWS), Python, Terraform, SQL, BigQuery, and Redshift.
You will report to a Senior Manager, Engineering. Relocation
support is offered for eligible candidates. Primary
Accountabilities ---Performs exploratory data analysis to determine
which questions can be answered effectively with a given dataset.
---Develops highly scalable and extensible data pipelines from
internal and external sources. ---Works on cross-functional teams
to develop and deploy data-driven applications and products,
particularly within the space of data science. ---Assists with
prototyping emerging technologies involving data ingestion and
transformation, distributed file systems, databases and frameworks.
---Builds and maintains tools to increase the productivity of
application development and client facing teams. ---Develops and
automates data quality checks. ---Develops big data applications
and data visualization tools. Knowledge of SQL and experience using
a variety of data stores (e.g. RDBMS, analytic database, scalable
document stores). ---Hands-on programming experience in Python or
java, with an emphasis towards building ETL workflows and
data-driven solutions. ---Working familiarity with Linux scripting
to automate workflows. ---Understanding of database internals, such
as indexes, binary logging, and transactions. ---Knowledge of cloud
computing platforms (e.g. Travel Requirements ---Up to 10%. In this
hybrid role, you will be expected to work a minimum of 10 days per
month from the office. Candidates should reside within
