University, located in the heart of downtown Chicago, is seeking an
Assistant Director of Graduate Admissions who will support and lead
graduate enrollment initiatives and help take our team to the next
level. The ideal candidate will have experience recruiting graduate
students, writing communications to students and faculty, building
partnerships with external constituents, and representing a College
or University at public events.A note about modality: Hybrid - 2
days expected on campus; 1 day mandatory (usually Tuesday) for all
team members to be on campus.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Required:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in relevant field.
- 3-5 years' experience working in admissions/enrollment.
- Ability to manage relationships both externally and within
Roosevelt University.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations
in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to navigate sensitive conversations with care and
tact.
- Self-starter and ability to prioritize independently.
- Ability to motivate, engage and challenge others.
- Comfortability with monitoring and comprehending data.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion when
working with admission counselors, prospective students and
external partners.

- Experience managing staff and projects in some capacity.
Experience with database systems (CRM and/or SIS) to input and
access individualized and general information related to
recruitment and enrollment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including
Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Valid driver's license and/or means to travel for
recruitment.Essential Job Functions:Staff Management:
- Conducts regular meetings with graduate team to provide
guidance and receive feedback on recruitment initiatives.
- Monitors team productivity with report and check-ins to support
staff and recruitment initiatives. Develops initiatives to keep
team engaged.
- Identifies strengths and areas of growth of team and
coordinates or leads training opportunities. Understands the
recruitment and enrollment process to best support staff and
prospective students.
- Provides insight on bottlenecks and obstacles that need to be
addressed, offers and implements potential solutions.
- Collaborates with Director and admissions leadership to assess
and execute recruitment strategies to meet recruitment goals.
- Meets regularly with Director to discuss the progress of the
recruitment team along with any issues internal or external of the
office that need to be addressed.Recruitment and Program Portfolio
Management:
- Understands and promotes the programs and services offered that
enhance the value and mission of Roosevelt University.
- Identifies, recruits, and admits prospective students in a
designated market.
- Manages recruitment for a portfolio of graduate programs,
cultivates relationships with corporate and professional
organizations to increase prospective student pipeline.
- Creates new opportunities for information sessions, admissions
events, and school visits with local community colleges.
- Conducts outreach by email and phone with students, parents,
school partners.
- Participates and/or assists with on-campus recruitment events
and visit opportunities, including some weekend and evening
hours.
- Participates in off-campus events and visit opportunities to
meet and engage with prospective students.
- Collects prospective student contact information, works to
input leads into CRM.Relationship Building:
- Counsels prospective applicants on the admissions process and
opportunities at the University. One-on-one and group admissions
counseling to diverse populations is an important responsibility of
this position.
- Admissions counseling occurs primarily by in-person
appointments, phone calls, text messages, and emails.Application
Management:
- Manages the application pool for assigned graduate
programs.
- Provides guidance and pre-advising to prospective students to
determine potential enrollment status, appropriate program,
location, and delivery method.
- Thoroughly reviews student credentials in making admission
decisions using guidelines provided by the University and awarding
merit scholarship opportunities.Student Guidance:
- Guides students through the enrollment process, from
application through matriculation.
- Assists students with accessing and understanding general
post-admission information and processes like financial aid,
advising and student support services.
